2012: APOCALYPSE NOW
It indeed is one of the apparent paradoxes that the notion of the end of world is a big obsession in the films that are made in Hollywood. Same kind of obsession with the end of the world is not to be seen in any other cinematic oeuvre, but Hollywood continues to revisit the theme on a regular basis. 2012 is another addition to this fascination. 2012 has a historical significance as this year marks the end of the civilization as per the Maya civilization and as the world would come to an end only select few would survive who will sow the seeds for a fresh civilization that would blossom from the destruction of the present civilization.
