Fortuitous as it may sound, at the time when Kathryn Bigelow was awarded as the best director for her film, THE HURT LOCKER, she being the first woman director to be conferred with the award, in the history of Oscars, India's Oscars Filmfare went on to award Zoya Akhtar as the best director on debut for her film LUCK BY CHANCE. If viewed from this perspective, indeed, it is an interesting parallel.
