A R Rahman is the fourth Indian, who has won the Grammy awards, his predecessor being Pandit Ravi Shankar (twice), Ustad Zaakir Hussain Rakha, Pandit and Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt But Rahman's feat is indeed different from his predecessors as it is for the first time that film given in music by an Indian music director has been considered worthy enough to be awarded Grammy.
